Applications are considered by an external multi disciplinary jury composed of professionals from the arts & culture sector who reside outside Prince Edward County. Please note that the exhibition is for individual artists only, with the aim of advancing the careers of professional and emerging artists. No studio names permitted. The application process has closed for 2018.


What to Submit

Application form and a post-dated cheque for the booth fee dated May 25, 2018. This will only be cashed if you have been selected.

Seven digital images formatted as a JPG with minimum dimensions of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Maximum 2MB each. The images should be a cohesive body of work, and be representative (medium/style) of the work you want to sell at the show. Images should be named as follows: Name_ImageNumber_Year.

One image of your booth set-up, or provide an image of several pieces grouped together that are representative of the work you want to sell at the show. This allows the jury to understand the scale of your work, and how pieces relate to each other.

Booth Fee

Standard booths are 10' x 10' at $400. Height is 6'. Three walls set-up in a U-shape.

Double booths are 10' x 20' at $800 and available upon request.

The fee includes the rental and installation of booth walls, booth signage, electricity, WIFI, packing station, overnight security, and centralized credit card processing.


Eligibility

Be a professional or emerging artist whose work exhibits originality and technical excellence.

Be a resident or ratepayer of Prince Edward County.

Be a member in good standing of the Prince Edward County Arts Council.

Exhibit only original works created by you, the artist.


Conditions

No commercial reproductions. Exception is made for photography, digital media and printmaking. Only limited (25 maximum of the same image in any size), numbered and signed editions of digital, computer or photography based works, will be allowed and must be marked as “limited edition prints”.

Present a professional booth display, which includes lighting.

Agree that all sales are processed by the Prince Edward County Arts Council (no HST).

Agree to a 15% commission fee retained by the Prince Edward County Arts Council.

Agree to complete a short survey within 30 days following the exhibition.

Offer for sale current work.


Contract

Upon acceptance, you will be emailed a contract.  Please make two (2) copies, sign both and return both by June 22, 2018.

Cheques will also be deposited by June 22, 2018 and are not refundable without penalty. There is a $25 fee for NSF cheques.


Cancellation Conditions

Up to July 15th a $100 cancellation fee will be deducted from the return of a booth fee if an appropriate replacement can be found.

Up to August 1st a $200 cancellation fee will be deducted from the return of a booth fee if an appropriate replacement can be found. If an appropriate replacement cannot be found, the entire booth fee will be non-refundable.

After August 15th there will be no refund of the booth fee.

 


If you are selected, we will:

List your name and one image of your work on this website with a link to your Arts Council profile.

List you in the show directory.

Make you a part of our targeted marketing campaign.

Provide you with the agreed upon booth space at the show.

Provide you with electricity for the lighting that you provide.

Provide booth signage with artist name and booth number.

Provide volunteers to assist you with set-up, take down and throughout the show.

Provide overnight security.

Marketing Campaign includes the following:

  • 30,000 copies rack cards in circulation as of May 25 throughout Prince Edward County, Northumberland County, Belleville, and Kingston.
  • Print advertisements in Breakaway Magazine, The Sojourner, Watershed (Summer), Kingston Life Magazine (Summer), and in local newspapers.
  • Digital advertising in the Globe & Mail, Ottawa Citizen, and Canadian Art.
  • Free listings across Canada using the Culture Days network, and more.
  • Social media marketing runs June-September. Minimum one feature post per artist. Includes paid boosts for general posts leading up to the event.
